The problem is one rule says to not run have any cheats installed, but is contradicted by their point stating the system checks game memory for cheat signatures in VAC-enabled servers. They seem to allow hacking the single-player offline game that isn't coded for outside connections. Because we don't know Valve's true stance.

I think we all agree that cheats are bad (mmkay?) in any case. I know of a couple cases where Valve reversed bans when the cheat engine wasn't hooked into game memory, but it took a lot of time, frustration, and luck. But we don't really know if having a cheat engine merely running when switching to a PvP-enabled game can trigger a ban there are conflicting reports. It sounds like the OP was running a cheat engine while in a game that's not connected to servers in any way (except for cloud syncing maybe). You have to sign in then connect to something to play BO3's campaign, for example.

Right, but we are talking specifically about single-player games. Ursprünglich geschrieben von speedvoltage:The Steam Subscriber Agreement is quite straight forward on that matter.
